Magazine Cover Styles

Cover Types
1. Early Magazine Covers
  • - Always had a drawing on them
  • - Very simple 
  • - Often had a moral theme

2. The Poster Cover
  • - Its a large picture that covers almost the whole cover
  • - Small amount of words
  • - The words only has to be about the cover
  • - The pictures tend to be visually appealing
Disadvantages
  • - Portrait covers can be tiring
  • - You don't know what is inside the magazine
  • - If pictures aren't awesome people won't pick up your magazine cover
    .
3. Pictures Married to Type
  • - Match the theme
  • - they(the words and the pictures) complement each other
  • - It tells you what is going on in the photo and it tells you what you can expect to see inside the magazine.
  • - The text wraps where their nose is 
Disadvantages
  • - Some people would find it boring to look at
  • - Boring colors
  • - Lack of visual appearance

4. In the Forest of Words
  • - We are going to see a lot of words on the cover.
  • - There are some bold words and some not bold words.
  • - Colorful
  • - Different fonts
  • - Bolds and Non bolds
  • - Lots of points of entry or entry points
  •  Disadvantages
  • - It takes away from the photo.
  • - There is too much stuff on the magazine



Stuff every magazine cover has:
  • -The title of the magazine
  • - There must be some sort of art or a picture
  • - A date
  • -
